Fun at the Fair

So last night I ditched out on cycling class and headed to the uptown Whittier street fair with Katie, Maddie, and Delaney. Maddie started off the night with non-stop bouncing. It was funny when Katie told her she had to be nice to the other kids, and to tell Sarah what she told them last time...*Maddie waving her arms* "Get out kids! Get out!" (or something to that extent. haha)

After a few rounds in the castle bounce house we walked around, looked at rings, jewelery, trashy people (there were quite a few out last night) smelled some delicious handmade soaps and ate some overpriced pulled pork sandwiches. Delaney was, as usual, perfectly content in her car seat.

This was her the whole night.

Katie stopped and talked about herbs (she said I'll understand when I get my own place with room to plant) Randy was on a hunt for cookies (Dave and Randy are too much alike) and I was on the hunt for fresh fruit (the wedding is fast approaching people!)

After a bag of homemade cookies, a basket of stawberries, cherries, and some helpful "worm juice" information on making herbs grow best we were on our way home. Good times.

THE END.

I'm sorry

So I have to agree with Katie's latest blog when I say I've been a terrible blogger! I don't have any pictures to post, so I feel like there's nothing to blog about. But hey, maybe some of you out there read what I have to say even without pictures...right?? So I've had a completely relaxing and pretty much un-eventful memorial weekend. It consisted of sleeping in, which is a regular occurrence now anyways, some last time PCH (because that chili cheese dog I LOVE probably takes up my 2,000 calorie allotment for one whole day, and I'm in wedding mode, so there can't be any more of that), and some HGTV with Dave.
I'm feeling slightly behind on some wedding plans, aso this week I need to accomplish some stuff like finalizing bridesmaids dresses plans, talk to the decorator, come to a final decision on the reception building, and make some invitation progress. I also got a job offer! I'm gonna go meet with them on Wednesday and talk the important stuff. It sounds great. With no traffic its about 5 minutes from Dave's and even less from the apartment we want...I'm stoked, so hopefully all goes well! Well, I'm fading fast in front of the computer so I'm off to bed. (these lazy days are so draining you know!!)

Enjoying the nothingness

So I guess I jumped into 'out of school mode' pretty quick.
My typical day since Sunday...
- Wake up at about 9:00 am.
- Realize that even if i've already slept 9 hours...I have nothing to get up for.
- Go back to sleep.
- Wake up again at about 11:00 am.
- Feel guilty that my morning is pretty much wasted.
- Take a shower, get ready slowly, and go to work.
- Come home then go to gym.
- Watch Dancing with the Stars or some other guilty pleasure.
- Read girly magazines like Marie Claire and Oprah, and throw in some Pottery Barn and restoration Hardware for decorating ideas.
- Go to bed.
- Repeat.

All done!

So yesterday was the big day, the one I pretty much thought would never come, and in reality, I didn't think it would for a while. The one that I had been anticipating since my transfer to Cal State two years ago. I graduated! Yup, walked in the cap and gown, moved the tassle to the left, name called and everything (ok, so I've done it for H.S and Jr. College already, so it wasn't foreign to me) but it was the actual ending! The other one's were just small hurdles along the way to actually getting here. I'll admit, It doesn't feel that different. It was almost like the anticipation of not ever having to study or write papers and take tests was more intense than the actual finishing of college. The only exciting thing right now is the feeling of freedom, not having assignments to do this weekend, a syllubus to check, or reading to cram in by tomorrow morning. And when I look to next week...my schedule is wide open!! :)

My parents, my aunt, my grandma, Dave, Katie, and baby Delaney all came to cheer me on. It was great to have the people I love support me and I felt really proud to have made them all happy. I got to sit with two friends from classes this semester all throught the ceremonies, and it was nice to be there with them. We had been throught alot, and we were finishing together.

Katie threw me a graduation party last night, and it was great. I loved that alot of my friends and family showed up to support me (and of course have some food!) Katie made me take a picture with my cake, so I had to lay on the table to get in the shot with it. haha. The bakery decorated it with the wrong colors...but it was still delicious! All in all it was a long day, but well worth it!

Ramblings

It's way too early to be functioning. I'm sitting at the schools library passing time because I finished my biology final and don't have anything to do until my art final in an hour. But back to bio...I was dreading it more than any other final, and its all done! Whoopee! I hope I did ok, cause I totally blanked at the last section, which always happens to be the part worth the most points. Go figure. Oh, and I was almost late for it too. I set my alarm for six, thinking the final was a 7:30, but as I hit my snooze button, I remembered i should have gotten up at 5:00 instead. So I text my classmate, and i was right. 7:00 final. I haven't left my house that fast in a long time! Needless to say, my hair is crazy, my face is make-up less, and I'm in sweats. haha.
Well, graduation is almost here. I'm down to counting single digit days. I knd of feel like a kid, like when I knew we were going to Disneyland, and I'd get really excited as it got closer, and then the night before I'd toss and turn cause i was so anxious....or was that just me?

So lately, I have the urge to shop. It happens about once a month. I get the itch to stop by the mall, and see what I can find...and then it happens. Just browsing at Forever 21 turns into two new shirts at American Eagle, candles and Illuminations, new makeup at Sephora (which can get dangerous) a smoothie at some random smoothie bar, and me dashing home to work. Then after work a stop at Old Navy turns up a new necklace, a pair of shorts, and an adorable baithing suit cover up halter dress for the honeymoon. And I'm not satisfied. I do believe its a disorder. An uncontrollable shopping disease I guess you could say...Cause' I still want to find a bathing suit, get a new pair of jeans, tops for my church skirts, some new jewelery, some shorts, and stuff from Pour Le Bain in uptown. Not to mention I'm running low on perfume. Do they have support groups for this stuff? If so, it would be great if they met at the mall, kill two birds with one stone, ya know?

My week in a nutshell

So another weekend has come, and gone. I don't understand how they go by so fast! It was a good week though. On Thursday I had an interview for a company I talked to at my college's job fair. I was pretty nervous, but it went great! The interviewers seemed pretty impressed by me, and I have a second interview next week for a full time supervisor position. I ended up taking the rest of Thursday off, and so did Dave, so we went to Laguna Beach had lunch and walked around. I had such a good time just being with him, and especially when we're just relaxing or doing something fun. It was so nice to be down at the beach and have nothing to do all day. This weekend was pretty productive too. I fit in a much needed car wash (being with Dave makes me feel guilty about how long I put off car washes), a study session for Biology, some Red Robin fries (yum!) a few days of sleeping in, and a nap. While at Red Robin, Rachel got clucks and fries, and one of the clucks looked like a fetus...gross, yes, but it was hilarious. Not only because it really did look like a fetus...but because Leslie is pregnant, and they had been looking up fetus pictures online earlier. Maybe you just had to be there...Tomorrow also kicks off...FINALS WEEK! The only reason I'm excited is because this is the last time I will ever take finals. I graduate on Saturday! No more worrying about grades, no more giving up time with Dave for studying, no more papers, projects, tests. The end. My best friend Katie is throwing me a grad party on Saturday too. She's the best. She even made the invites, which were paisley print and adorable.

I've been thinking alot about the future. All that it holds, what it'll be like, the worries, the excitement, paint colors for the apartment, bedroom furniture...you know, the typical stuff. I'm just so excited! The plans are coming along great. I was a little bit of a stresscase a month ago or so, but I feel so much more at ease about everything. Things are just falling into place. Graduation is here, job offers are coming to both Dave and I...I feel blessed. I know that if we continue to do the right things and take it as it comes, everything will work out.

Things that make me happy

Per Dave's request (turns out he reads this...and enjoys it!) i am blogging tonight before I go to bed. I was thinking today, as I stood in Wal-mart (as I do about three times a week), that I completely love shopping for beauty products. Twenty minutes flies by when I stand in front of moisturizers. I dont think i can really explain the excitement that comes from new beauty product purchases...so in honor of my addiction and sheer love of them, here are some of my favorites, and I emphasize some.

Frederick Fekkai Glossing cream- It gives my hair shine and softness.

Burts Bee's Chapstick- I own many. One for my purse, one for my nightstand, a backup in case I loose one of those...you get the picture.

Mac Paint Eyeshadow- Creates a great non creasing base, and gives eyeshadow color more pop.

theBalm Time Balm Concealer- Covers up, but not cakey. Plus, it comes in a cute little pot.

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Perfume- Lasts all day, smells fabulous.

....And although its not a beauty product, Dave's funny faces make me laugh, which makes me happy.

Today was a good day...

We went to a BBQ today at Katie and Randy's. It's always great to spend time with friends. While we were there we had some good burgers and we snapped a few pictures. I've decided I wish I had kids, because they're a great photo opportunity pretty much all the time. But until then, I'll use Katies. haha.
Maddie and I.

Dave took this while Delaney was all smiles. She is seriously the cutest thing ever!!

The tulips were pretty, even though their days are numbered. And you can see Katie and Delaney in the background.

Maddie took this all by herself! I'd say she did a pretty good job on her first attempts at picture taking.
After the BBQ Dave and I went to my house for a nap (I LOVE afternoon naps!). Then we went to the Jackmans to watch the fight...which was annoying cause I wanted De La Hoya to win, but whatever. Oh, and we booked our photographer earlier in the day. They're photojournalistic, which is what I wanted because I love well captured candids. And photos aren't cheap, so its hard to get quality on a budget. I'm really excited about it because they're a place I've been eyeing ever since I started planning, and I got them! http://harvardphotography.com/

I did it...

I bought my wedding dress! I went to a really nice lady's house in Trabuco Canyon who sells modest dresses out of her home. She actually had quite a few, and all the ones I wanted to try on that I had seen in her catalog. My mom, Aunt Chrissy and Katie (and I cant forget Delaney) went with me. Katie has always said, you'll probably end up buying the one you wouldn't think you'd like. What do you know, my best friend was right. Not that I didn't like it, but I never thought a semi-dropped waist would work with my figure. Wrong. It looks good, (and with more gym time, hopefully will look even better)! If you're close to me, you know that I suffer from self diagnosed decision anxiety. Haha...but I didn't have as much trouble as I thought i would. Maybe that's a good thing, a sign that its the right one cause I picked it pretty easily. Anywho, its a done deal, one more thing to check off my list, and the more I think about it all, the more excited I get!

Happy Birthday Dave!

Today was Dave's birthday (the big 2-6!) so we went to his favorite fish place on the San Clemente Pier. Coming from a non fish lover, it was pretty good. They had great sourdough bread, and being a bread gal, that made me happy. The coconut shrimp was pretty delish too, but i played it safe and stuck with pasta. His family got him and everyone tickets to see the Charlie Daniels Band in June, so that should be totally fun!

I got him a pair of new shorts (we're poor engaged folk here, no room for anything fancy) and a car. Yup, a car. My grandpas old Explorer is sitting in my Aunts driveway collecting dust and not really working, and I've heard Dave mention on more than one occasion that he'd love to turn it into something offroad-ish. He's got this talent when it comes to cars, and a real passion too. So, I worked my favorite niece/granddaughter role and ta-da, handed Dave the keys tonight. In theory its a fun idea...but practically, we'll see if it'll work. Who knows, Dave may have us a baja explorer sometime! And if not, maybe some cash in hand if we can sell it.
